SELECT PROGRAM
For boys and girls born in 2013 and older
The Select program runs on an annual basis, with official tryouts held in mid-May to early June.
During tryouts, prospective players are assessed by the coaching staff to determine the player's level of skill, fitness, and learning potential. Players may then be invited to join one of the club's Select teams.
Prospective players are also welcome throughout the year to attend a team practice as a guest in order to be assessed and possibly receive an invitation to join a team. Please contact us for more information.
COMPETITION LEVELS
In our development-first environment, our teams consistently develop into higher levels of competition.
The first available competition level of Select soccer is known as "D2," and league registration and scheduling are coordinated by the Capitol Area Youth Soccer Association (CAYSA). The next two levels of Select soccer ("Super 2" and "D1") are coordinated by the Western District Division One Association (WDDOA), with teams assigned to one of three flights based on competition level. The lowest flight is known as "Alpha," followed by "Challenger," and then "Prime." The next level of competition above Prime/D1 is the State Classics League (SCL), which is coordinated by the South Texas Youth Soccer Association (STYSA). Teams may also opt to compete within the US Club Soccer (USC) system as an alternative to CAYSA, WDDOA, and STYSA league play.
Our club offers a training-only program for Select players who are not affiliated with an existing club but who want to focus on their soccer development so that they can improve their ability to compete at the Select level.
