COVID-19 and Galaxy SC

April 2, 2020

Hello Galaxy Families,

I know many of you are wondering what is going to happen with soccer in the next few months with respect to COVID-19 impact. We wanted to let you know that we are monitoring the situation very carefully and will do what is best for our membership. The safety of our players, coaches, and families are of utmost importance to us.

Williamson County has a Stay At Home order thru April 13th and prohibits any organized activities in the public parks until April 30th.  In addition the City of Round Rock limits organize activities in the City parks until May 11th.  Under the circumstances we will not be able to hold any club training for the remainder of the season.  We encourage our players to stay active by having regular workout activities at home and work on the personal technical activities suggested by our technical director.

The situation is still very fluid and can change, however it is very unlikely there will be any more games played for the rest of the season based on the published guidelines.  Tryouts for U11 was scheduled for May 11th, and for U12+ it was May 26th through the first week of June.  Those dates will likely change and we will inform you as soon as we can of those changes.

This is a difficult time for everyone but we will get through it.  Don't hesitate to reach out if there is anything we might be able to help you with.  In the meantime state safe and follow the medical professionals guidelines.

Thank you for being part of the Galaxy Family and stay tuned for further updates.

Sincerely,

Richard Casseus
President Galaxy Soccer Club
